I have a Dell Dimension XPS Gen 2 with an Akasa Fan controller. I have replaced all of the stock fans with higher/variable speed fans to make full use of the fan controller. But because the fans are plugged into the fan controller and not the motherboard, I get fan failure warnings at startup, with the prompt to press F1 to continue. Everything works fine, and there are no temperature problems. Is there a way to disable the warning (i.e. the bios)? Or in the alternative, is there a three-pin mod I can make to put on the motherboard fan plugs to simulate that the fans are there?

Most fan controllers have at least one adapter cable that allows for a split off tach signal. You would have to get more and either adapt one to the Dell connectors or mod them thar connectors to accept what you have. You will still get fan errors depending on the error parameters loaded into the adm1027 by the Dell bios. Other than that there is a message on the board giving you a keyboard bios setting that just gives you the fanx error message and continues to boot.
