i dont think it would be hard to cut out for the window, but i work with power tools everyday at work, it all depends on your cutting skills, practice cutting on something else before you dive into it.

the fans and cables are a good way to increase airflow.
nice fan controller, but do you want to pay that much when others are half that price?

lol yea duct tapes the best... 2 fans 1 for video card and one over the heatsink.. Im going to be punchin holes and putting a window in eventually thats why there are the pics of the side of the case i have the window spot marked out.
as for the fans on the heatsink i have them both going the same way... out of the case.. As far as temp difference i couldn't tell you cuz i don't have a way to monitor the temp. however they're the dell stock fans. so they're temp sensitive. and i never hear them rev up... ever so im assuming it's pretty cool. haha
well my configuration before would still rev up the stock fans. and now they don't so between my initial configuration and this one this looks like the winner.
Im thinking the rewiring should help airflow... if anyone wants to know i think i could give you a diagram of it. If you're looking to do a full window like me it hids all the cables behind the drive bay so you can't see much... at the current moment im plotting out my side window and the door window.. the door window i think will be complicatied i think im going to use the factory mechanism but put in a window and make the swining arms out of plexi so you can see through them.. who knows.. if anyone can thing of some good ideas for the front door let me know

Pop that side panel plastic off and take a long look at it's mounting method. Also take a gander at the drive cage mounting method to the side panel. There are usually 2-3 locking tabs at the top and other tabs that fit into slots as the panel is slid up to lock into place.

? what is that in reference to? and how do i get the side panel plastic off. I"ve been trying to do that for a while now. cuz it would just be easier to cut through the aluminum and the secc separate

Open the access door and look down between the sheetmetal and the palstic for two lock tabs ( /_| ). They'll be about 4 inches from the front and rear. Pry them out about 1/16 th of an inch and push the plastic panel downward. You'll need open space to allow the plastic panel to drop about an inch. Here's a pic of the off side on my gen 1.

AWESOME . Thanks alot for the diagram... do you think the drives are solely held in by the side panel?
