i just can't come up with response against someone who has worked with the "goverenment." If this post had "meaning" could you please explain it to us. --hence-- inane.

i concede it didnt really mean much. i just basically had no response for such a statement. the biggest reason i made such a emphasis on it, was because you were making a point and it seemed to awkward at best when the word was misspelled. though from what i gather you were in the military for 6.5 and the government obviously needs street level bureaucrats ( i also think that street level bureaucrats get more done, then say your run of the mill politician) i think because of this, your perspective is more jaded in terms of the gov as well it should be. i agree in terms of the government and its dealings they seem somewhat shady. but then again they are above the law essentially. if you have a patent on something and the gov wants to pay you to make something, you do it for whatever you're paid. you have to, you can negotiate. i just think there is distinction between public corps and the government. something like the gas situation would have gov intervention because it suits them best. it just seems like a different situation in this specific regard to intel and amd. also my whole pt is that companies like ati, nvidia, intel, amd ARE trying to one up each other, they ARE trying to have the fastest gpu or cpu. that is distinctly why they are probably not in cahoots with each other. anyways i did not start this "flame war." i never personally attacked you, in fact i agreed with you that it was an interesting possiblity (that they could be in on it). your retort was that "my eyes were closed" or something to that effect, when i had said very little aside from explaining the shortcomings in intels latest manufacturering process and that amd had made major strides with their athlon 64 and fx line.

I have a lot of inside information on the Silicon Valley wars, my wife being an extremely reliable inside source. (she works for a company that is sponsored by Intel, and AMD) Lets just say some of the stories I have heard from her are shady at the least.

looks like the gen 2 on the left and gen 3 on the right. two diff systems. they also have diff i/o panel which must be in part to the new 925 chipset usage.

web designers need help for sure. i can double check with a guy i talk to who works at dell uk and has been working with them. but the different i/o panels are the biggest tip off. the pics are still showing an i/o from the 875 mobo. they would have to be the same as the US version because of the use of the same 925 chipset.

Ive just priced thes Gen3's, there is NO way I would buy into these. Its untested, with no benchmarks, on TOP of recent news of some chipsets being recalled. This is a PCiX based Gen1 as far as Im concerned with NO onboard Wifi. Asus+AMDfx55+ddr2@533+x800xt pcix+Danger Den water blocks= True Happiness. I'll tell you what, after about 1 year of running this machine i'll probably being switching to the amd fx line as well. With all the top of the line overclocking goodies, all nestled in a nice chilly prometia case.

I like the Wavemaster too. But this made me chuckle... Fry's Electronics is a local computer/appliances/home electronics store that I like visit from time to time... ( O.K. I LIVE there, I hate to admit it.) They carry bulk ribbon cable and headers. If I had to bunch up my cable like that I think it would be worth the trouble to make my own 'shorty' cable. Or at least that would keep me busy for an afternoon; my wife would like that, LOL!

If I had the money to blow, I would either go Prometia, or Vaporchill. For the cases we had to pick off of the Tom's hardware site, I would go for the Lian LI. Piece of artwork in my book.

Its hard to get a idea on the measurements, but that looks like a BIG case. Coolermaster makes a sleek looking case, Lian Li's design just seems to Power Mac G5 for me....Mac Loser's User's suck! T.RoW
