Good news indeed, for some of us anyway. I guess Raid technology only helps when you want data security like that of a Raid 1 array.

That makes buying my next hard drive an easier deicision. I was thinking about buying a raptor drive but was toiling over RAID (whether to do it or not). I spoke to my friends dad, who said that if possible, to run RAID 5. Any thoughts?

The only reason you would want to run raid 5 is to protect your information from errors/miss writes. You can back up your information on an additional hard drive now without having to worry about a raid setup. I would highly recommend the 10k raptor 74gb hard drive. I have one in my system and it works like a dream.

Do you think that I should run two hard drives? Having one for storage and installs of stuff and one for your operating system, so you can boot and load faster? Someone at hardcoreware said I should do that.
