Has anyone consider trying a peliter cooling setup for the xps?

IF....your going to do it right, you would need another PSU, unless you want a whimpy setup. Plus, condensation isn't something mobo's function with for very long. ======================================= This is whats been eating my mind up....You don't know HOW close I came to ordering this stuff... ++----------------------------------------------------------------------- Much more practical.....if there is a such thing when discussing waterblocks with or without a peltier. It is too bad that this mobo is non overclockable, I would love to push this chip to 4 or 4.5 ghz. damned the dell dudes.

that would be an insane o/c. just to get 4ghz would require a 250 bus speed which is or 1000fsb. its very difficult to achieve that kind of bus speed with a 16 multiplier. to get to 4.5 would be like a 280mhz bus, which most boards cant handle. even with a good o/cing chip like a 2.4c. this is more then just cooling, this is just something the mobo and chip couldnt handle. you would have to get extremely lucky with the chip batch you got. 250-275 isnt unheard of with say a 2.4c or 2.6, much more difficult with higher clocked chips. 300mhz bus is really tough to ever get to and you would need to get lucky with the cpu and have a lower multipler like 12 or something. also you would need a mobo with a pci/agp lock. and one that works. cause when you o/c youre also increasing the normal 33/66mhz. it would make your pci/ video card not work, if not fry. big reason why not to do a software o/c. i mean you can read about people using liquid nitrogen to boot into windows or something, but thats not something you can use for long nor is it a reliable, stable o/c. in terms of cooling you guys should be really happy at where youre at. your much cooler then most people already.

Yeah if you can lock your pci/agp bus, and you had a strong phase change cooling system I think you should at least be able to hit around 4 ghz.
Dan39 you (and my wife) probably think i'm crazy but "GOOD" is never enough. There is allways a better way......... i'm hopeless

Why the hell would you consider a TDX for a peltier or a Maze 4 for your chipset? The chipset needs no additional cooling, as it does not aid stability. The TDX is a horrible option for cooling a peltier.

he's talking about the pics posted. and he meant that he was considering getting those water blocks for a water-cooled system. got confusing because of the "peltier cooling" subject title.
