Yeah it does look cool, it should be very effective with the push pull setup, just don't forget you'll need the new retention assy. from intel.

Is that the same one TRow refers to on his site? I am thinking about adding the other fan on it for a total of 2 fans right off the bat.

Take a look at this page, www.umsl.edu/~natc7d/Deezmod.htm Deez's Zalman Mod will give you a good idea on what to expect with the Retension mechanism Replacement. (I would replace the mech. even if the mod was possible without it, Why cut corners?) ======================================= Definately a kick ass looking Heatsink, kind of resembles... ThermalTake Rocks, but the Weight would be a definate concern as Buzsaw pointed out. I would take either of these, your choice if for a XPS, will be more than capable of meeting and exceeding your demands. T.RoW

I would definately agree with the weight being a item of concern: however I would only worry about it when transporting the tower. If you do install this new heatsink, I would definately transport it with the motherboard side of the tower down, ie the same way you installed hsf to begin with.

With cable/dsl subscriptions up as high as they are lan parties are a dieing breed imho anyway. I totally agree, the days of low latency lan gaming will soon become extinct, except for the Professional Leagues that pay High Purses, and Underground buddy 2 buddy Lan Play. WAN play will be the majority Arena for people who don't want to tote n' frag. T.RoW *Sorry if its 'off the subject' but Dano had a good point.

Newegg.com is a good site to look into for 1 stop shopping. PCToyland/FrozenCPU but they won't have the Retension mech. Search around, and please post your results.

I ended up ordering the extra fan and big @$$ heatsink from tigerdirect.com and the retension clip from intel of course. I also ordered 2 rear exhaust fans and a pci slot 2 fan cooler just for kicks from coolerguys.com. All in all I ended up spending about $150 in cooling products. I hope it's worth it.

Trust me bro..... It is very worth it!! I've spent about $55 on my cooling setup and my temps went from ( stock ) cpu 55-60 and system 40-45 (idle) to about 29 cpu and 25 system. To all of the cooling gurus on this site I cannot hold it back anymore, you guys have to get a temp/fan monitor. I installed mine last night, it came with 8 temp probes, that will scan each individual temp and displays them in indiglo. www.macpower.com.tw/products/peripherals/dd/dd5sensor set up ----- 1) case intake air temp 2) case exhaust air temp 3) cpu intake air temp 4) cpu die temp 5) WD raptor temp 6) center of case ambient 7) Graphic card intake 8) Graphic card core Who says too much information is overkill, "knowledge is power"

Net Tech, Id follow up with them (CoolerGuys)to make sure your getting your stuff, Dano and I have BOTH had bad experiences with them. Dano's bribery skills are a little better than mine tho. =======================================
As far as results for $150 worth of cooling goods.....
Peace of mind + Mod'n + Extremely LOWER Idle/Load Temps= Priceless

Im interested to see how sync'd the Adm1027's are vs. More Accurate Temp reading. Please, let us know. For now, Im content(believe it or not:D) as aestethic's and a New Heatsink are my main concerns for now. But if there's a difference Im definately Getting a HDD cooler/Fan/Temp monitor. Today's Idle Temps... -Ambient's about 70F/21c T.RoW

This all hit me with a feeling of generosity.

You are more patient than thou...For me Pctoyland.com is the Best Retailer on the Web. Coolerguys did give me a Extra Zalman Multi connect for my troubles $4 value. It only takes one bad online experience to stifle any future business with me....Bribes on the other hand are a different story. Makes you wonder how long they can stay in business giving away products for mistakes. Just a thought, T.RoW
