Hi guys, I have an XPS gen 2 system, with the heat pipe CPU heatsink. The system runs WAY TOO LOUD and WAY TOO HOT. So i was thinking of swapping out the stock cpu heatsink with a Zalman or something of the like. What model would fit in place of the stock cooler? Would i need a new CPU retention mount, or can i work with the stock one?
I dont mind getting rid of the giant plastic hood that goes over the stock heat sink.
Thanks for any info you can lend... i've read every post in the boards, and i'm just not too sure for my particular system what the right parts are to order.
Thanks again!

Thank you for the information! I saw the site before, and was trying to figure out if I really needed the new retention bracket. Now i know i do. Thanks! Any idea if those two missing pictures will be back anytime soon?
I have a 3ghz P4, i dont overclock or anything. I also have the radeon 9800 pro, and replaced the stock fan with the VGA Silencer. That seems to be working great, but the internal temps still rise too much, and the exhaust fans are running like jet engines.
Any other further advice you can lend would be much appreciated! Thanks again...
