Hello for the first time everybody. I'm anticipating my XPS G3 to arrive this week and have been reading the boards about cooling down the P4's. I'm getting the 775 3.6 Ghz one and was wondering if anybody had rigged up one of those Koolance (Eios?)external watercooling devices to the CPU and/or GPU. I think they look pretty cool sitting on top of the case and the install doesn't look too bad for a semi-novice like myself. Aside from that subject, my first work will be to convert the internal wiring to round cables and upgrade the 2 back exaust fans. Has anybody really figured out what the most quiet & efficient case fan is? Panaflo-Zalman-Antec-Silverstone? Thanks and any help you young guys can be to this fossilized old man will be greatly appreciated. Especially when it comes to playing H.L.2 for the first time. I can't wait for my XPS to arrive! Testing the Exos will be a challenge because you need to bypass your PSU to "test" the system for Leaks before install. The Dell PSU Pin config for the mobo is bass ackwards, and I wouldn't recommend attempting to do so. The Slot interface uses PWR pins that attach to the mobo. If you can use a bypassed ATX PSU to test the System, then you shouldn't need the PWR pins. From what Ive read, a 4pin Molex is what it draws its Power from. For the Gen2 s478 you will need a Intel CPU Retension mechanism. Dont really have enough info on the Gen3's socket hole dimensions. Meaning, whether the holes are ATX or DTX.
