I am using a gen 3, and a pretty standard one at that. THe stats on my computer don't matter to much in this case but Ill give them anyway:
P4 560 @ 3.6Ghz 1024mb DDR2 @ 533mhz PCIe ATI X800 XT (256) Windows XP Pro Audigy 2 ZS
Now the problem is that I don't really know if there are values I can fill to enable temperature monitoring on the new 9xx chipsets. Even worse is the fact that I dont understand much about MBM in the first place. If someone has any information about the issue, I would love some help. Thankyou

MBM has officially stopped developing any more Updates for this popular software monitoring program. I wouldn't suspect that a 9xx chipset version will be made available anytime soon, you have to remember most the free world is still drooling over i875P. This is not to say that someone will not fill the void, its just a matter of when. Its a shame that MBM is no longer, after 7.5 years. mbm.livewiredev.com/T.RoW

Does that mean MBM5379.exe is useless in the XPS with 9xx chip set?

From what Ive read on the New 9xx Intel based mobos, is that the Temp and Fan guardbands are controlled in the Bios, which for Dell means 3rd party software.http://intel.com/design/motherbd/precisioncooling.htm
I would say that temp monitoring on Intel 9xx based chipsets, is not going to be supported by MBM, but someone may create a Plug-in, or another Developer may spawn a new program for these next gen systems.

I read a review on the 560 core, the bulk of it was the amount of heat wattage the core produced under full load: 110+
Monitoring or at least accurately measuring your Gen3's Idle/Load Temps would be my first priority. If not thru software, then through a Bay Installed Temp Monitor. Would be better if MBM supported this chipset, especially to compare to Gen1/2 systems.

Run the DELL diagnostics related to cooling and see what shows (answer to the question ' Is there a system environment chip? ') Try running aida32 and see what shows ( chip fan speeds etc and what interface it uses ) Take a good look at the motherboard to identify a system environment chip. hint: if there it will likely be located close to any unused/unpopulated fan connectors. I had issues with mbm 7.0 (predefined system parameters were incorrect for my gen1) and went back to running 6.0.
