Does anyone know what this means. i got it during start up.
Drive 5 Not Found = Parallel ATA PATA-1 (PRI IDE Slave) Alert CPU Fan Failure
I know what the fan failure is for but not sure about the other. everything seems to be working fine after i press F1.
I have my 3 mod fans powered inline with the dvd drives power supplly could that be the error?

Try isolating the problem by removing the fans, and see if thats the problem. Im assuming you have 1 HDD, so make sure that is properly connected if your using a IDE cable, double check all the molex connectors are seated properly.
Others Gen3 user's may have some suggestions. Hope this helps, hope it aint the fans.
Did this occur after you installed the fans? Or is this something recent?
How long have the fans been installed? How many boot cycles did you go thru before you noticed the problem?

I dont know what the problem is. I unpluged all the new fans and put the originals back in. booted and it was fine. then i plugged the new fans in one at a time and booted and it was fine then tried different combos and it was fine. put them all in booted 3 times and i didnt get that error. so who knows what it was. Have to see if it happens again

You may have had an IDE HDD connected to a different cable connector location, or even on a different cable, than what they were originally.
