Just got my XPS G3 yesterday and love it ;D However, I am now having a problem with the graphic color. Basically the color white is yellow causing the color blue to be green, etc. I tried changing the Dell on-board 4.10 drivers to the ATI 4.11 but this made no difference. I am ruuning BIOS A03. I also talked with Dell support but, by then, after several re-boots the problem had corrected itself. The tech told me that there were no similar problem symptoms in there dB so asked if I could call back later this week after he did so research. I am running DVI to DVI without an adaptor and the monitor works well on another computer but I do not have another monitor to try on the G3. This problem happens randomly at boot. Mostly when cold booting after the system has been down for several hours. Even the boot-up DOS screens have yellow text instead of white. It seems to also happen less frequently the longer the system has been on. Any help or suggestions would be very appreciated.

Geeze, thats crazy. It just seems like an output problem with your graphics card.

Also, MAKE SURE you check the card if you do get a new graphics card. As sad as it may be, Dell tried to replace my X800 XT with an X800 SE. Not only that, but when I told them and they sent me a replacement card, they sent ANOTHER X800 SE. Just make sure they dont pull a fast one on you =) and good luck!

Thank you for your replies No doubt I will pursue Dell for another card if the prob. persists and thanks for the heads-up on the card swapping tactic. Now that you mention it, the other computer did not have DVI capability so I think I will try to switch the G3 to VGA when this problem happens again. I may also try the windows plug 'n play monitor driver instead of the Sony driver and a different DVI cable. What do you think ?

Color corrects itself when I turn off the monitor then turn back on. Or if I wait about ten seconds after I boot the XPS g3 before I turn on the monitor the problem does not occur. Any idea what the problem might be

I have no idea, but I think its something worth persuing (sp?). You don't want this issue to spread later in your computer's life. Its better to nip it in the bud </end stupid saying>
