Alright, I happened to lose my recovery cd from Dell and they were more than happy to send one to me. I got the package today and its just a cd in a big ole box. It has a return slip on it, though. Do they honestly want me to return this dumb thing? Is there perhaps a way I can copy the disk to have one of my own?

Hmmmms......that usually means they want the olde one back and if they don't receive it they'll bill you ($$$$)....if your path to your current position was via a service call you can log in and view your machines history (problems & resolutions, including shipments). If you are refering to the 'Operating System CD', it's an oem version of microsoft's windows xp, and you have legal issues with any copy etc. You might want to call back in hopes of getting it all resolved at no charge and above all 'DO NOT' loose it again!

When I reformatted the XPS for the 1st time I had a couple yellow flags in Device manager. Onboard NIC WDM (ATi Rage Chip) So, I created my own custom Disc to streamline the Re-install process. Heres a few: Service Pack 2 (network version) Intel Chipset Install Utility Intel 10/100 LOB (onboard NIC driver) ATi 4.12 Driver/WDM/CP Driver Monitor Driver Sound Card Update Spybot/Adaware/etc... Backups T.RoW Edit: I recommend running DriverCleaner in Safe-mode & Restarting Before you Install the New ATi Drivers. And...I ditched Dell's Home edition for WinXP Pro w/ SP2...thx Bitlord!
