Whenever I play games Like CoD: UO or Half Life 2, Doom3, etc. my computer freezes after a while. The sound starts stuttering and the screen either goes black or is stuck on the last image. Sometimes I hear this loud beeping sound when it freezes. I have updated all of my drivers from Dells site and it still occurs. I have used ATI Catalyst drivers, Omega drivers, Tech Connect magazine drivers all with varying versions and it still occurs. I usually play games with the settings set to high or maximum but never mess with AA or AF unless it is set automatically from within the video driver. Does anyone have any ideas???
I have watched temps using ATi Tool and it never goes above 74 while playing games and all of my games have the lasted patches.
Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

74 Celcius? If so, thats really quite hot. I am sure this is a heat problem. See if theres anything you can do to get rid of the heat in your system then get back to us. Good luck!

I called Dell tech support and they told me it was due to HT being turned on. They advised me to turn it off and uninstall my video drivers. Then install the latest ATI drivers only, not Omega, DNA, etc. So far it has only froze once since I made the change versus every time prior to the change. The Dell guy also mentioned that there are MANY known issues with gaming on XP due to Hyper Threading being turned ON and problems with Directx...
I reran ATI Tool to monitor the temp prior to calling Dell. I noticed that in COD:UO it only rose to 61 degrees Celsius with every setting on max. I may have been wrong about the 74 degree temp.
I think I am going to purchase some Artic Silver and reseat the ATI Silencer. This should take the heating question out of the equation.
