Has anybody installed the ATI Silencer 4 (Rev.2) on the Radeon X800 SE cards? The Arctic Cooling site says that these will work on the R420 series and the SE version is an R423. I just don't want to take everything apart only to find out that Dells OEM version is different from all the other X800's.

I should be getting my ATI Silencer 4 very soon, so I'll post all the install photos for the X800 SE here, unless somebody else thinks their's a better place for it.

In the words of a famous Italian, "Juzz forgetta boutit..."
It's official, my AC ATI Silencer 4 arrived today, and it DOES NOT FIT !!!!! the Dell version Radeon X800 SE!!!
It seems like there's a hole missing on the board for the 4th attachment pin to go thru and besides, the aluminum HS for the back doesn't match up to the 4 RAM chips. Leave it to Dell to spec out another bastard part. It's gonna be a long time before I can shell out $450.00 for a new X800, so does anybody need to trick out their "real" X800?

Turbo, Take a look at the model #'s here. X800 XL, XT, PRO - Silencer good. X800 SE - Silencer bad.

Mines about the same (44c/111f deg.) in stock config. with heat sink shroud on (for now). I plan on going back to my custom set-up with dual Panaflo's, no shroud and taking more temp readings when I re-do my HDD area with 2 more fans.

For all you Radeon X800 SE owners out there, I've just installed the Zalman VF-700Cu on my card and it fits perfectly, works great with both fan speeds and the extra RAM heatsinks look bi*chin' on the board. I couldn't use the Dell plastic retaining arm cause the rear Zalman support piece gets in the way. Will post OC & temps soon. It's too bad the Silencer 4 didn't fit, but the VF700 is great looking & dead quiet (although $10 more) and should make this card a player in the budget catagory.
