my xps gen 3 runs all the time cuz i play mmorpgs and i can level while afk. so i leave my comp on all the time. this (not surprisingly) causes my heat sink fan to be on all the time. and also my computer makes whistling sounds now too. i wanted to know if you guys think it would be wise to pay a professional to swap out all of the innards of my xps, put them into a new case and have 1337 liquid cooling installed instead of fans? p.s. telling me to turn off my comp for long periods of time is out of the question

The biggest trouble that you are gonna have with liquid cooling is with installing the WC head on the cpu of the Dell/Foxconn motherboard. There are all kinds of issues with proprietary installation (connections from the back of the MB) that you have to deal with. You are gonna have to research this one alot in order to avoid being down for along time. I've seen some posts from guys that have done it, but I don't have any links to guide you to. Let all of us know what you find out so we don't electrocute ourselves.
