I have a gen 3 pc and I am trying my best to keep it cool. I had the tech come out and replace my sink with a new one. I did not have major fan noise but they kicked up a lot and now they don't with the new sink. I don't have any monitoring devices inside. The only temp thing I use is my nvidia 6800gto temp gauge. The most recent things I added was an 80mm fan in the fan cage up front to pull in cool air and then I put a pci slot fan to pull out the heat near the graphics card and inside the case. The new fans aren't too loud so its worth the trade for cool air. Based on the temps from nvidia, my temps are 61c gpu and 46c ambient. Just with those 2 fans my temps dropped 10c. No to bad a drop for cheap fans it seems. I would like to cool my gpu more but updating it while still in warranty makes me nervous. I was looking at either the zallman or silencer 5. Which one is easier to install and then remove if needed for warranty issues? ;D

the zalman vf 700 alcu is a very easy install, took about 5 minutes, so taking it out shouldnt be to difficult. my temps went fom 52c (idle) to 37c, worth the money and time. maybe someone else can answer you about the silencer 5, cause i have no clue on how they cool.
