Hi gang,
My G3 died on Sept 18th. I had 18 days of warranty left, was I lucky or what?!
They sent a tech out to replace the Mobo but no joy. So they said they would send another tech with a full kit. This was to consist of a PS, CPU, 1GB mem, and a Mobo. Well, I waited and waited, but no tech called. After 2 weeks, I called them. I was really annoyed to find that since the PS was unavailable, they simply canceled the order. I screamed until they offered to send a refurb and a free printer. I was told that it would take another 2 weeks for them to find a G3 that matched mine exactly. I was also annoyed to find that there would be no warranty on the refurb and then had to fight with them in order to be allowed to purchase a 3 year warranty on the refurb.
Anyways, I finally received the refurb on Oct 20th. I transferred my 2 HDs to it and was up and running. After checking the serial number on Dell's site, I found that this refurb was purchased on Nov 9th 2004. The serial number is FDTQ261. Did any of you guys send this PC back to Dell? If so, I'd really like to know its history.
Well, this post is long enough. Hope to hear from someone soon. Later
