Hey Zefram--nice system!!! I just rec'd my Gen4 this past monday. I fully expected the 2xDVI version of the X850XT to drive my dual 1905FPs. I didn't notice the DVI/VGA/TV-out disclaimer on the 'Help me choose' pop-up during customize; rather after I rec'd the box. The 2xDVI version was the only version that appears in the online reviews, eBay, etc. I spent three days and over six hours on the phone with (seems like) every department in Dell and FINALLY, after being ready to send the system back; they are sending the retail/box 2xDVI version to me at no addt'l cost. there was so much resistance because they don't stock the OEM 2xDVi, just the retail box; so they probably ate into the system margin to make me stop calling. It was truly painful. This is my first Dell and the depth of Dell support (TechSpt, CustCare, Sales, etc) was disappointing. Other than that, I love it! It's fast, quiet, and the 2x19LCDs set for horizontal-span are outrageous. Check into the ATI Catalyst Control Center if you haven't already. I'd like to find a thermal/fan monitoring program that works with the Dell/X925XE motherboard. Looks like MBM isn't there yet or the MB probes aren't accessible. If anyone gets monitoring to work for Gen4, pls advise. TRow: great forum! glad to have found it... You lucky son of a gun!!! you got a 2 DVI card... I'm jealous now. =)

got mine last Monday and the front USB/headphones door fell off in my hands. Prefer my Gen 3, which has better specs except its a 3.2, the Gen4 is a 3.4. Now the kids can play each other when I'm not folding. forum.folding-community.org/index.phpThink the PS2 is gonna get awful lonely. Also the Nvidia says GPU temp threashold is 145C??? Surely that's wrong. The ATI won't allow over 51C, or are they reading 2 different temps?

I am just unpacked mine this last weekend and am setting up the softwarer. I love it so far, not much of a gamer per say. MYST is my thing and with the 2001 FP, I get a large screen edge to edge of my linking worlds. This is the quietest system I have ever had. I elected the quiet mode for the drives and slowed the Plextor down one notch, which is still lightning fast..... but real quiet, never woke the baby once which is rare. This was what I basicly set up, Dimension XPS Gen 4 P4 Processor 560 (3.4GHz,800FSB) 4GB DDR2 SDRAM at 533MHz 2x250 GB 7200 RPM SATA RAID 0 256MB ATI 6800 GTO video, using the DVI which rocks Single FP2001 flat panel Triple threat for my video collection Plextor PX-716 SA SATA 16X DVD+/- dual layer with Dell duals 16X DVD-ROM & 16X DVD+/-RW Dual Layer SB Audigy 2 ZS Yammaha speakers with woofer 100W Microsoft wireless elite desktop mouse and keyboard
