I'm not sure according to the website the 410 uses duo chips but i'm not sure how the mother boards compair. I'm going to go out on a limb and say no though just because I don't see why they would make a new series of XPS if they were only changing things like the cpu , video card and things. SO you probably have a different mother board that's not compatible.
I'm not sure but thats my 2cp

Roger that.. A big negative..
My XPS GEN 5 is still cooking along, but I just added a Core 2 Duo Dell system.. I thought for giggles I would try the Core 2 in the XPS GEN 5.. Negative.. Doesn't work..

Defeinitely not, there are only a very select few socket 775 motherboards that support C2D. Dell's previous models are all too early for support. Kinda sucks..... but thats how intel is almost all the time. AMDs X2 series dual core were pretty much supported for all motherboards if you have the right socket, but ever since 478, Intel has been requiring AT LEAST bios updates (and usually chipset updates) for their newer cores. Still, C2D just knocks the socks off most everything.
