I have an XPs 410 or 061? I got a trojan oct.24th and had it resolved through the good folks at bleeping computer. My system is not working up to snuff like it did before. I experience lags in performance that didnt exist before 10.24.11. I tried many things. tried to re-enable DMA but dont have those boxes to check in the device manager as a possible solution, since we had to de-activate cd emulation while they were removing malware wiht a program called defogger.
QUESTION: if I reinstall windows reformat my computer will all the service packs still be available?
can i use my original disks to re-install any drivers that have become corrupted and how do I do this with my XPS system. thank you!!

I'm a big fan of "Wipe and Reinstall" especially on XP. All of the service packs, updates, etc..will still be available through MS Update.
I would scrub with: Malwarebytes Utilities found on Bleeping Computer.
The performance difference on a new OS is unreal compared to something you've been running for years.
Backup all your files Wipe and Reinstall XP Updated Drivers -Defrag Update Windows -Defrag Reinstall Games and enjoy what is seemingly a new PC! -Defrag
Top Programs I use: CCleaner Auslogics Disk Defrag Malwarebytes
