Hello all,
I am new to the forum and had a question to ask of you. I currently have a Dell XPS M1210 and recently upgraded the HD to a Seagate Momentus 5400.6 500 GB 5400 RPM SATA 3.0 Gb/s Notebook HD - OEM from Newegg.com. After the installation, for some apparent reason it only states that I have 455 GB free and 10 GB being used. It states that the drive is 465 GB with 455 GB being free, but when you right-click on the C Drive and go to Properties it states the following:
10 GB being used 489,221,861,376 bytes Free, but to the right of it states only 455 GB Free. The Capacity Pie diagram, it states 500,096,991,232 bytes, but to the right of it only states 465 GB.
My question is, why is there a misinformation in regards to the HD sizes? How come it is only stating 465 GB as the capacity and only 455 GB left. However, the Capacity Pie diagram states 500 GB as the max capacity.
Very confused. Can someone please shed some light on this matter?
Thank you very much in advance!!
